Swedish art on the web

Since art in itself is basically a universal language - well, sort of, but you know what I'm talking about - I'll recommend this list of links to sites managed by some really good Swedish artists. Even if Swedish is gibberish to you I doubt that you'll have any problem enjoying the art.

Link was provided by omkonst.se, the best art site in Swedish by far.

I find conceptual art to old fashioned (it's ruled the art world for 30 years, time for a change,) but am interested in contemporary Swedish artists that might have a combination of academics and modern qualities. You can check my work to see what I mean. Do you know of any?

The short answer would be: hardly. My interest is mostly in conceptual art, and in my opinion most contemporary art is conceptual in one way or another.

But in a more narrow interpretation I guess a lot of the stuff I write about here is more aesthetically driven, than actually conceptual. Like Anna Finney for instance. I find her art conceptual, but she has been called a realist by others. Gunnel Wåhlstrand has a very academic approach, but her method of work is so intricate that it becomes a concept in itself.

To be perfectly honest: I'm probably not the right guy to ask. I tend to see the conceptual in everything, even though it's not always intended that way by the artist.
